RainTower clothing.

Good evening. Yesterday I fell sick (thanks to certain individuals in my university class I presume, that I previously observed coughing and feeling sick the other day), I think it's a cold, with fever and stuff. I stayed at home today, pretty much doing nothing and feeling bad for so many things that I spent most of my day sleeping in the darkness of my room.

I should have used the day to devoure my A Storm of Swords, book III of A song of Ice and Fire, one of the most amazing ant touching sagas I've ever had the pleasure to read. Tonight I'll force myself to read till I fall asleep! For now I was feeling very cozy about the blog and I'm writing this shorty entry while listening to Lord Mark Knopfler (lol). It's about RainTower clothing, a line of handmade organic clothing that the swedish artist Naomi Nowak sells on Etsy.

I don't have personal experience of any of her products, but for my birthday this next 12th of November I'm planning to reunite some money from what I'll get from my grandparents plus something I guess I'll have and buy something from her store. As soon as I buy, I'll do another entry for review.

Her clothes follow a similar but beautiful stylistic line: people with our tastes will definitely love it. The colors she uses are included in my favourite colors' palette, all blueish-greyish-darkish. Everything is handmade and handyed, being the dying themes mostly about astrological, mystical, alchemy stuff. From her own words, I leave you here a fragment of what she explains to you in her Etsy page:

''Hand sewn and hand dyed by me using recycled material exclusively. Each piece I make is unique - my philosophy is never let anything go to waste; I only sew when I find fabric or garments that I can recycle. This is a new incarnation of pre-loved fabric, long since washed free of the chemicals that come with new cotton.

I'm inspired by mythology, magic, alchemy and nature - I'm an illustrator but I've always loved making clothes. This is a wonderful way for me to get my illustrations onto some apparel without buying new tees, going into dodgy licensing deals or using expensive/non-organic printing processes.''

Here are some pictures of her creations (click for large version), which you can get from http://www.etsy.com/shop/raintower . Her personal website: www.naomi.se . Pictures NOT taken by me, they are all either from her Etsy store or her Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/raintowershop . If you have any of her creations already, leave a comment and let us know! Many smiles to all of you. Have a good night.

This dress was SO OBVIOUSLY created for me. It is my destiny to fullfill the epic journey of buying it one day. (The girl's the artist, by the way.)

This is my second destiny task. And the model is artist  Liselotte Eriksson!

The dying of this one is so delicate and beautiful, isn't it? Very nice creation this one.

Hello to all the new likers! Hola a todos los nuevos seguidores del blog! It meant a lot to me to enter today and see them. These days I haven't been feeling quite well, plus the beginning of the university has taken time from me too, but I promise to begin doing new entries very very soon. New reviews on natural products (such as Azahar/Orange blossom natural creams and oils), some tutorials on how to decorate with medieval motifs your Book of Shadows and some rituals of purification and protection towards the Fall. I'll begin this weekend, and again, thank you very much: the beginning of a blog is always hard, but I'll try my best to provide you with interesting entries so that you don't regret following the blog.

By the way, if you don't speak English very well I and you are really interested in a particular entry, I can translate it for you in Spanish without a problem, just leave a comment.

Good-night.

Crystal jars.

Hello again. Noon turned to crap and I'm moodless, but as I said, here are the photos of the jars I bought. They're 0'75€ each, if you're interested I can get you as many as you wish and deliver them to you afterwards. 250ml each, cork plug. I've one in green crystal from another store, but right now I only have access to these.

One easy and known way to keep your herbs in order is buying white little stickers (I got white ones 'cause I didn't find any other, but if I'd found them in café color, I'd have gotten those) and write the name of the herb/s on it.

Keep on reading for the photos.

Home day.

Hello, folks. Today it's been one of those days I love so much, one of those Sundays. It's the kind of day of staying at home, eating junky stuff, lazying around on comfortable clothes. Both me and my man are going to play something now on our computers, and giving the fact I couldn't convince him to install the Alice Madness Returns he bought me for my past birthday on his pc, I'll be playing it on my own here (he's playing Arkham Asylum, with a pretty neat Catwoman I must say).

I'm grabbing some ice cream now and let's go to my favourite twisted Wonderland. In the next entry I'm going to speak of herbalism, about the crystal jars I bought yesterday for keeping my herbs, and only for 0'75€ each (wohoo!)

Have a nice day you too and, you know, just enjoy your home. It feels great.

I just love steam punk Alice.

Review on natural products.

(Photoshopped image of my hand with the toner, which I'll use as my Blogger profile picture)

Hello folks, here I am with my second entry. As I said, it's about natural products that a girl from the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain) makes. All she makes is from natural ingredients, and she has an enormous variety, from creams to shampoos and aftershaves. The other day I managed to make an order (and the manage goes for the fact that I'm broke), which consisted only in a shampoo of sweet almonds and violet flower. When the package arrived, I saw she included three little presents, and I was so happy about it! I mean, doing something like that nowadays, that basically no one gives a f* about the customer. She put a little vial with rose facial toner and two coffee exfoliating soaps.

I'm not very fond of coffee products, but the moment I used one of the soaps I was like: WHAT?! My face was so soft and clean, and the smell of coffee disappeared very soon. Now I keep the soap for my diary facial cleaning and I must say that the result is amazing and my skin is much better than before. In the picture you can see one of them, the other is obviously in my bathroom!

As for the shampoo I'm very happy as well. It doesn't exactly smell violets or sweet almonds, but more of a candy sort of thing, although after you've washed it you get a tiny smell of almonds, like when you use sweet almond oil. Its texture is very liquid, not particularly creamy, but after you've applied it on your hair it spreads easily and forms tons of foam, needless to say that in the meantime the whole bathroom smells deliciously.

And the toner I haven't used it yet because it's very little and I wanna keep it for some special ocasion, like going somewhere special with my guy or something of the sort, but I've smelled it and it's like having a bunch of wild roses in a vial. Delicious.

Her name is Vanessa and she mainly moves around Facebook, whee she has the official page for her products, although she made this past month a store-like website in which you can choose, add to cart and pay (Paypal or bank transference) the products, you know, as a more official thing. From what I can recall she doesn't deliver abroad YET, but she's planning to, meaning she only delivers within Spanish territory. If you're very interested though, you can tell me your order and we may arrange for me to buy the products then send them to you! It's very worthy, even more if you're a natural products fan or you're freaking tired of animal-testing companies as I do. Her official webpage is www.jabondecora.com and her Facebook page, where she has TONS of images (go check, you'll have a nice time dying of envy as I daily do!) http://www.facebook.com/pages/jabondecora-y-mas/288606984493995 Every week she does a give-away, btw.

(The sticker didn't come like this, but having it in the bathtub has made it like that, because of the water and stuff)

Goodnight everyone, I'm going to the bed to keep on reading A Clash of Kings.

Thursday, September 6, 2012

Hallo.

The project of having this blog is now officially on the road, no matter if I success or not! Hello everyone. It's night here where I live and very late, so many hours in front of the computer have made both my mind and hands numb, but I wanted to have the blog ready for tomorrow (I'm planning to do a little bit of promoting, don't really know how yet).

I'm excited about tomorrow because I'll begin doing the serious research about herbalism. I also have to order some books, so some titles may come in handy if you know about something! I'm really a beginner here. Right know I'll head to the shower and then probably go to bed to lay down and keep reading A Clash of Kings. Since I finished the Harry Potter saga, no other saga had kept me so intensely attached to a book. I'm very happy for discovering these as I'm thrilled to know what'll happen between Sansa and the Hound, which I think it's the best love story of these books.

By the way, my next entry will be about some products I want to give feedback of. They're natural and handmande in Tenerife island by a very nice girl, she's also in Facebook blablabla, anyway, tomorrow pictures and details.

Have a goodnight and sweet dreams.
